After this traumatic event, grief struck me again. My sister was having fainting spells along with nausea, headaches and dizziness. After multiple ER visits and observation stays in the hospital, she was eventually diagnosed with A-fib (Atrial Fibrillation). Not given proper education about this new diagnosis nor given the correct medication therapy, my sister went home discouraged and not vigilant of what symptoms to watch out for. I received a call from her family in September stating that my sister had collapsed on the floor at home.
My sister’s family also did not know CPR. Her husband called 911 but again, she lay there with no CPR performed until EMS arrived. It was too late. My sister was 33 years old, leaving behind 2 amazing children.
